Hi there! My name is Kara, and I am travel obsessed. I overwhelm most of my friends with the amount of trips I try to convince them to go on. Who knew it was so hard to get people to travel??

I grew up in Wyoming…some of you may not even know where that is. It’s a state, in the United States of America. A perfectly square state somewhere in the Midwest with a total population less than most major cities. You don’t find a lot of diversity, or come into contact with varying cultures, so I quickly realized it wasn’t going to work for me long term and I found myself longing for change and adventure. It was during this time that I took my first flight (to Seattle for a super-cool-kids choir trip); and it was absolutely terrifying. But I knew it was a necessary evil if I wanted to see the world…which I did, but it would still take some time for me to get there.

So I branched out and moved to Colorado for college. I did just enough to get by and obtain my degree in Finance. It was during this time that I took my first international trip (Mexico, back when you didn’t need a passport to go there) and I really got bit by the travel bug. I was still terrified of flying, in fact I cried on the flight home when we hit turbulence going over the mountains to get back to Denver. But I knew I needed to figure out a way to make travel more regular in my life.

Fast forward to today, and I still live in Colorado (Denver). I’ve been working in a Finance-ish job for the past 6 years that requires me to travel quite a bit. This allows me to see places I probably wouldn’t go to otherwise, while also earning points I can use for my personal travel. I supplement those points with my one true hobby: credit card hacking. I plan to get into all of that in detail, so I won’t steal my own thunder here.

At the end of the day, I plan to use this blog to discuss a variety of topics: trips I’m taking, loyalty programs, credit card hacking, travel news / tools, flight deals, etc. I will likely throw in some other stuff as it suits my fancy…it is my blog after all. I hope to inspire others to embark on their own journeys, and maybe find more travel buddies for myself! Maybe selfish, but that’s humans amiright?
